And you worked at MTA - imagine if we combined our efforts: Larry Mannino X2 (or perhaps LM 'squared') - likely, the results would be exponentially spectacular ;) Thanks for commenting - would love to hear more about your work with Traub as well - Best, Larry

Re: The Future of Retail: a Nice place to experience a Brand (but you probably won’t be taking anything home).

Hi Larry,

I am also Larry Mannino; I started at Bloomingdales many years ago and worked for Marvin Traub.

Sincerely,

Lawrence J. I think it's also worth mentioning that as biological creatures, we are unable to evolve either physically or mentally as quickly as the technology to which we exposed - Moore's Law doesn't apply to my gray matter- and that's probably a good thing.

As far as the Apple versus Nexus and clothing points, I actually have an upcoming post on that very same issue on the draft pile which takes an educated stab at where I think it's all going - should be up soon - thanks for the comment -Larry

Re: Touching the Screen Just Ain’t the Same – and What That Means to your Marketing Strategy.

I think part of the take away is that the human computer is an analog device, that more often has interface to a digital world. For that communication between parties to work, a translation, or transformation, must take place. It's in that translation that the experience is lost. When the translation is done well, the experience is better. An experience will seem more "real" if there is less to interfere with that inter-communication.

I was just metioning to someone that a good example of where digital marketing has trouble is clothing retailing. That is one area where online sales have to still compete with people wanting the tactile experience of feeling fabric, or trying things on. (Though I am guilty of seeing something in a store and then searching for a better price online). Appple recognizes the tactile need with their brick & mortar stores. They have realized the importance of the actual hands-on experience. An example of a failure would be Google's Nexus phone. They had a great product that they attempted to sell purely in a visual/digital way. Didn't work out so well.

Re: Touching the Screen Just Ain’t the Same – and What That Means to your Marketing Strategy.

Hi there,

I looked over your blog and it looks really good. Nowadays it seems more like ‘go out to the homogenized big-box store to buy more homogenized stuff to bring back to your homogenized house and fill the gaping hole in your homogenized existence’, but then, maybe I’m just cynical ;) Thanks for the comment -

Re: Built with passion or just up to code?
